Outpost loggers sent to you will be sent to you in a Deactivated state. In this state, the logger is not actively communicating with our servers and will not be logging or uploading any data. Depending on the product, you may need to activate the logger:
- EVO series loggers will require external power
- COBRA and WASP series loggers will require magnet activation
- WILD-M-B and WILD-M-R series loggers will require push-button activation
Powering up
The EVO series loggers requires an external 5-12V power source to power it. See EVO Power, Meter & Sensor Connections.
Activating by magnet
Activating by magnets are required by Outpost loggers that have an internal battery, like the WASP, WASP2, COBRA or COBRA2 series products.
- Place a small magnet on the magnet icon at the front Outpost label for 5-8 seconds.
- WASP/COBRA series - you will hear an audible long beep when magnet is placed; hold the magnet in place until logger beep stops.
- WASP2/COBRA2 series - you will see the blue LED light blink; hold the magnet in place until blue LED light stops blinking and goes solid.
- Remove magnet at solid blue LED.
Activating by push-button
Activating by push-buttons are required by Wildeye and Wildeye Enterprise loggers that have internal batteries like the WILD, WILD-E and WILD-E-R series products.
- Press the button at the front of the Wildeye label for 5-8 seconds.
- Wait for the blue LED light to start blinking; hold the button until blue LED light stops blinking and goes solid.
- Release push-button at solid blue LED.
For explanation of the LED sequence after activation above, see LED Activation Codes for WASP2 & COBRA2 Series for more details. This code applies for Wildeye series products too.

- The Outpost Configuration window opens.
- Click Billing and Deactivate logger.
- The Outpost site logger will go to a Deactivated state the next time it connects.
